About the role Are you an experienced fitness leader who is passionate about creating exceptional health and wellbeing experiences for your community? Do you thrive on leading teams, growing participation and developing innovative programs that make a genuine impact? We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Team Leader Fitness to lead the City's Fitness Department across Riverton and Cannington Leisureplexes. In this full-time permanent role, you will provide leadership to a diverse fitness team including Fitness Officers, Gym Instructors, Group Fitness Instructors and Personal Trainers. You will drive the delivery of industry-leading fitness services, programs and experiences that support healthier lifestyles, strong community outcomes and sustainable business growth. Working across two award-recognised Leisureplexes that welcome more than 1.4 million visits annually, you will play a key role in shaping the future of fitness and wellbeing services through strategic planning, innovative program development, community partnerships and a robust focus on customer experience. A snapshot of the role

- Lead the City's Fitness Department across Riverton and Cannington Leisureplexes.
- Provide leadership, coaching and support to Fitness Officers, Gym Instructors, Group Fitness Instructors and Personal Trainers.
- Drive membership growth, customer retention and participation across a diverse range of fitness services and programs.
- Develop innovative fitness, wellness and community programs that create positive health outcomes.
- Build partnerships with community organisations, schools, health providers and other stakeholders.
- Lead business planning, budgeting, financial performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee fitness equipment lifecycle planning and ensure facilities remain contemporary, safe and welcoming.

What you’ll bring to the role

- Demonstrated leadership experience in a fitness, leisure, recreation or community wellbeing environment, with the ability to develop high-performing teams and foster a positive, customer-focused culture.
- Demonstrated experience developing, delivering and continuously improving fitness services, programs and initiatives that drive participation, community outcomes, membership growth and commercial performance.
- Strong understanding of fitness industry trends, business development, customer retention and service innovation, with the ability to identify and implement new opportunities.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, budgeting, financial management, reporting and business improvement within a service delivery environment.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with experience working collaboratively with community groups, schools, health providers, sporting clubs and other key partners.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent leadership experience in a fitness, leisure or recreation environment, Certificate III in Fitness, with a Current First Aid Qualification, National Police Clearance and Drivers Licence.
