Project Manager - Landscape Construction ($3M-$5M+ Packages)

About the Role:
Reporting directly to the State Manager, the Project Manager will take full operational, financial, and contractual governance of major civil and commercial landscape packages valued between $3 million and $5 million+. Operating across multiple state-of-the-art office hubs and travelling to active site locations across South-East Queensland, you will lead complex project life-cycles from early procurement through to contract administration, site management, and client handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Project Execution: Formulate comprehensive project delivery plans, procurement programs, staging schedules, and baseline budgets, establishing clear build-ability goals with client teams from day one.
- Commercial Performance & Margin Control: Drive rigorous budget tracking,
forecast cash flows, manage financial metrics to protect project gross profit, and proactively mitigate commercial risks.
- Advanced Contract Administration: Lead head contract and subcontract management, including precise handling of Requests for Information (RFIs), Extensions of Time (EOTs), scope variations, progress claims, and contractual correspondence.
- Operational Leadership & Risk Mitigation: Identify site, program, and environmental risks early, partnering with Site Supervisors to maintain site momentum and resolve operational bottlenecks swiftly.
- Stakeholder & Client Management: Serve as the primary client interface, providing transparent progress reporting, fostering trusted relationships, and driving high customer satisfaction at handover.
- Resource Optimisation: Direct workforce allocation, plant, equipment, and material procurement across multiple active sites in SEQ to maximise operational efficiency.
- Safety & Quality Systems: Drive a strong safety culture, ensuring 100% compliance with SWMS, environmental management controls, and quality assurance frameworks.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- 5+ years of Project Management experience within commercial landscape construction, civil engineering, or Tier 1/Tier 2 construction environments.
- Proven track record managing major civil or structural landscape packages valued from $3M to $5M+.
- Contract administration capability across standard construction contracts, with demonstrated skill in managing variations, EOTs, RFIs, and progress claims.
- High-level commercial acumen, project forecasting, cost control, and risk management capability.
- Strong leadership capability across internal site teams, specialized subcontractors, and material suppliers.
- Deep competency in workplace health and safety (WHS) management, SWMS implementation, and quality assurance.
Highly Regarded:
- Comprehensive technical knowledge across hardscape (paving, retaining, civil works) and softscape (revegetation, planting, irrigation) disciplines.
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Project Management, or Civil Engineering.
- Experience working on Queensland transport/infrastructure projects, TMR specifications, or alongside Tier 1 head contractors.
- Proficiency with project scheduling software and/or Certificate IV in WHS.
