Senior Project Manager – Construction Orange, NSW | $150,000–$170,000 + Super | Full-Time Permanent

Buildability are recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of construction projects based in Orange.

This is an opportunity for a commercially astute, technically capable Project Manager who can take full ownership of projects from initial planning and project commencement through to construction, completion and final handover.
The successful candidate will be comfortable operating autonomously, making informed decisions and taking responsibility for project delivery, commercial performance and quality outcomes.
The Opportunity Reporting into senior leadership, you will have end-to-end responsibility for managing construction projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required specification.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who understands the detail behind successful project delivery — from interpreting construction drawings and developing scopes of work through to managing contractors, controlling costs and overseeing the final handover.
You will be trusted to run your projects independently, identify potential issues early and drive outcomes without requiring constant oversight.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage construction projects from initial planning and project initiation through to completion and handover.
- Take full ownership of project budgets, commercial performance, programme and delivery outcomes.
- Interpret architectural and construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work and technical details.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers,



consultants and other project stakeholders.
- Develop and manage project schedules, procurement activities and construction milestones.
- Monitor costs, variations, claims, progress payments and contractual obligations.
- Identify and manage project risks, resolving issues before they affect delivery.
- Ensure construction activities meet relevant standards, specifications, safety requirements and quality expectations.
- Conduct site inspections, monitor progress and maintain strong communication with stakeholders.
- Manage defects, practical completion and final project handover.
- Provide clear reporting on project progress, financial performance and potential risks.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors and internal teams.

About You

You will be an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager with a solid background in construction and the ability to manage projects independently from start to finish.
You will combine strong commercial judgement with the technical knowledge required to understand how buildings are designed, scoped and constructed.
To be successful, you will bring:

- Demonstrated experience managing construction projects end to end.
- Robust commercial and financial management capabilities, including budget control,



cost forecasting and variations.
- The ability to confidently interpret construction drawings, scopes, specifications and detailed construction documentation.
- A sound understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and on-site delivery.
- Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders.
- Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- The confidence to make decisions, take ownership and manage competing priorities.
- A proactive, self-sufficient approach, with the ability to work autonomously and drive projects forward.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A strong focus on safety, quality and successful project outcomes.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Building or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
