Sharp & Carter have been engaged to recruit a Psychosocial Safety Officer for a high-profile global organisation in this 12-month contract role. Sitting within a central group function, this role will support multiple businesses across Australia, with a strong focus on psychosocial risk management alongside broader WHS and injury management.
This position will suit a Safety professional with strong psychosocial exposure who enjoys translating frameworks into practical solutions and influencing positive change across a complex business.
About the Role
Reporting into the HSE Manager and working closely with HR, you'll support a broad range of safety and wellbeing initiatives across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of the organisation's psychosocial risk management framework
- Reviewing external recommendations, identifying gaps and ensuring proposed controls are practical and appropriate for the business
- Conducting and supporting psychosocial risk assessments, hazard identification and mitigation strategies
- Partnering with HR, leaders and operational stakeholders to embed psychologically safe working practices
- Supporting workers' compensation, injury management and employee case management
- Leading and supporting incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Conducting WHS audits, risk assessments and site spot checks
- Delivering health and safety training across the organisation
- Supporting broader health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across multiple locations in Australia
About You
You'll have genuine exposure to psychosocial risk management and the confidence to operate across a complex, highly matrixed stakeholder environment.
We're particularly interested in candidates with:
- Demonstrated experience across psychosocial hazards, risk assessments and/or psychosocial safety frameworks
- Solid knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and contemporary psychosocial safety requirements
- Experience across broader WHS activities including incident investigations, risk assessments and audits
- Exposure to workers' compensation, injury management and case management
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence leaders and teams through change
- A collaborative, credible and pragmatic communication style
- Previous experience within retail, hospitality or hotels will be highly regarded
