The Casual Lecturer (Business) contributes to high-quality teaching and learning within the Bachelor of Business at Polytechnic Institute Australia. This role supports student success by delivering engaging, evidence-based content aligned with national standards and regulatory requirements.
Lecturers are expected to foster inclusive, student-centered learning environments; provide timely academic support; and participate in curriculum delivery, assessment, and scholarly activity. The role also involves collaborating with academic and professional staff to ensure excellence in education and a positive student experience across PIA campuses.

- Location: Sydney CBD Campus and Parramatta Campus
What You Will Do
A Lecturer will:
- Develop and teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate units;
- Provide support and guidance to students as required;
- Promote high-quality teaching and learning in lectures and tutorials and conduct tutorials, lectures and supervision of students in both postgraduate and undergraduate classes;
- Development of new unit material and flexible approaches to teaching and learning;
- Contribute to unit administration, unit co-ordination, provision of unit related advice to students, and conduct of assessment procedures and examinations;
- Participate in seminars, meetings and committees in PIA;
- Engage with academic, professional, and international organisations relevant to the objectives of PIA; and
- Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of PIA and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of themself or others.

The casual Lecturer must actively engage in continuing professional scholarship and development as part of personal professional development plan. General requirements can be found at:

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Formal qualifications in Business and equivalent skilled experience;
- Evidence of ongoing scholarship in the field of learning & teaching;
- Experience in higher education learning & teaching operations and leadership;
- Experience and ability to engage and incorporate technology in delivery of unit materials;
- Ability to work with students and staff from diverse backgrounds;
- Ability to support students’ learning activities through various media and modes;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; and
- Commitment to equity and diversity principles, and Work Health & Safety.
Desirable:
- Relevant current professional memberships and registrations;
- A postgraduate qualification in adult or higher education or a willingness to undertake such study to obtain one;
- Activity in research/scholarship in relevant fields of education
- Understanding of Higher Education regulatory requirements, including the ESOS Act and the Threshold Standards
