Employment Type: Full time eleven-month contract with the possibility of extension.

Remuneration: $87,199 to $95,482 p.a. plus super and annual leave loading

We are searching for enthusiastic and motivated Administration Officer to join the Mental Health Review Tribunal. This new position will play a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of the Tribunal, providing high-quality administrative, customer service and operational support across a broad range of functions, including member support, hearing operations, payroll and financial administration, records management and reporting activities. Working as part of a collaborative administration team, you will help ensure the Tribunal continues to deliver its significant statutory functions effectively and professionally.
About this role
As an Administrative Officer, Corporate Services, you will contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the Tribunal through a diverse and rewarding range of responsibilities. You will provide administrative support including document preparation, correspondence management, records administration, purchasing and general office coordination. You will assist Tribunal Members by coordinating hearing availability, arranging panel allocations, providing operational support and serving as a key point of contact for member enquiries.
The role is also responsible for administering member payroll processes, sitting fees, travel claims and reimbursements, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with relevant policies and timeframes. You will support hearing operations by coordinating logistics, maintaining hearing facilities and assisting with the arrangement of replacement members when required.
A key component of the role involves maintaining accurate records and supporting reporting obligations through the collection, verification and management of information and data. This includes liaising with mental health facilities, health services and other stakeholders to obtain and follow up information required for Tribunal reporting activities. In addition, you will provide high-quality customer service through the reception and enquiry functions,
responding to a diverse range of enquiries from members, stakeholders and the public.
To be successful, you will bring experience in administrative support roles, strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will have well-developed communication and customer service skills, sound computer and records management capabilities, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining professionalism and discretion. Relevant qualifications in business administration or substantial equivalent experience are highly desirable.
