Behind Every Booking Is a Person
Interpreter Bookings Officer | Collingwood, VIC | Full-time | Salary Packaging | Free Auslan Training
Help people access essential services, education, healthcare and employment by coordinating the interpreting services that make communication possible.
If you’re an experienced bookings, scheduling, administration or contact centre professional looking for meaningful work, this is an opportunity to use your customer service and coordination skills to create real impact every day.
Why this role is different
Every booking you coordinate helps a person who is Deaf or hard of hearing access services many people take for granted.
Whether it’s arranging an interpreter for a medical appointment, a workplace meeting, a university lecture or a government service, your work directly contributes to accessibility, inclusion and opportunity.
This is a rapid-paced, highly collaborative role where no two days are the same. You’ll juggle bookings, respond to changing priorities, solve scheduling challenges, support customers and work closely with interpreters and colleagues across Australia to deliver outstanding service.
If you enjoy coordinating people, solving problems and helping others, this could be the role for you.

About Us
Established in 1884, Expression Australia is a not-for-profit organisation created by and for the Deaf community. We empower people who are Deaf and hard of hearing to overcome barriers, connect with their communities and choose how they want to live.
With offices in Collingwood, Hobart, Fremantle, Devonport, Ballarat and Geelong, we work alongside individuals, families and communities to create a more inclusive society. Our vision is for all people who are Deaf and hard of hearing to have every opportunity to connect with and contribute to society, with the freedom to thrive in their language of choice and access the support they need throughout their lives.
Role Overview
As an Interpreter Bookings Officer, you will coordinate and allocate a range of language services including Auslan-English Interpreting, Deaf Interpreting, live captioning, note taking, transcription and translation services.
Working as part of a supportive national team, you will manage bookings for a diverse customer base including members of the Deaf and hard of hearing community, government agencies, healthcare providers, educational institutions, community organisations and private businesses.
This role brings together customer service, scheduling, workforce coordination and administration.
You’ll balance customer needs with interpreter availability, respond to changing requirements and find practical solutions when scheduling challenges arise.
This is a full-time, office-based role in Collingwood, working a rotating roster within our service hours of 8.00am–6.00pm, Monday to Friday.
Key responsibilities include
- Responding to customer enquiries via phone, email and other channels.
- Scheduling and coordinating language service bookings.
