Viridian is one of Australia’s leading glass manufacturers, processors and distributors. We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance and engineering function at our Ingleburn manufacturing site.
The prospect
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead a hands-on maintenance and engineering function focused on plant reliability, preventative maintenance, reducing downtime and improving manufacturing performance.
Working closely with Production, Quality and Operational Excellence, you will provide technical leadership, develop the capability of your team and drive improvements across plant, equipment and maintenance practices.
You will also oversee engineering and capital projects, including equipment installation and commissioning.
What you'll be doing
- Lead, develop and support the maintenance and engineering team
- Improve plant reliability and minimise unplanned downtime
- Develop and drive preventative maintenance programs
- Troubleshoot equipment and plant performance issues
- Lead continuous improvement across machinery and maintenance practices
- Plan and deliver engineering and capital projects
- Manage contractors, budgets and engineering resources
- Maintain strong safety and WHSE standards
- Use maintenance data and MEX to drive performance and improvement
About you
You are an experienced maintenance or engineering leader who enjoys being close to the operation, solving problems and developing people.
You will ideally bring:
- Significant maintenance or engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment, including leadership experience
- Experience leading a maintenance, engineering or technical team
- A relevant engineering, trade or technical qualification
- Robust knowledge of manufacturing plant, machinery and preventative maintenance
- Proven experience improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability
- Experience delivering engineering or capital projects
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong safety leadership and stakeholder communication skills
