Clutch Track Pty Ltd
Full Time Senior Architectural and Building Technician
Salary: $98,000 per annum + superannuation
Terrigal / Central Coast, NSW. Full-time, permanent.
The role
Clutch Track is the live record of steel reinforcement on a project: what was scheduled, what was delivered, what was installed, and what was claimed, down to the bar mark. We are recruiting a Senior Architectural and Building Technician to do the technical work behind that record. The role reads structural drawings, bar schedules and specifications, checks quantities and site conditions, and keeps supply, installation and cost aligned. Digital scheduling, automated variance checks and the Clutch platform are how the work is done.
Key responsibilities
- Read structural drawings, bar schedules and specifications, and turn them into the quantities, sequences and scope used to track reinforcement across a project.
- Review project information and align supplier and site data with the contracted schedule of rates and the specification.
- Check delivered and installed reinforcement against the documented schedule, including missing bar marks and differences between scheduled and delivered tonnage.
- Visit sites to confirm conditions, log deliveries, mark installs and flag missing bars or delivery issues for the supplier and the office.
- Estimate supply, labour and installation cost, compare budget with actuals down to element and location, and flag a variance before the pour.
- Coordinate the programme from supplier to site and replace spreadsheet scheduling with a live schedule shared by commercial and site teams.
- Assist project managers and estimators with resource planning, supplier claims, and invoice rates that do not match the contracted schedule of rates.
- Inspect materials and recorded installs for compliance with drawings, specifications and contracted rates.
- Set up the project pipeline: schedules, deliveries, installs, accessories by location and level, and issue close-out.
- Use automated checks to catch duplicate claims and mismatches between schedule, delivery and installation before they become a cost or a delay.
Required
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
- Seven or more years in Australian construction, working with drawings, schedules, quantities and site delivery.
- Experience reading structural or architectural drawings, schedules and specifications, and preparing the quantities and sequences used to run a package.
- Experience estimating materials, labour and time, and tracking budget against supply and install.
- Experience on residential and commercial projects, including site inspections and coordination between office, supplier and site.
- Experience improving how an Australian construction business tracks schedules, quantities, deliveries or cost, including workflow automation or structured project reporting.
- Full-time availability in office in the Central Coast area.
Desirable
- Familiarity with reinforcement schedules, bar marks, tonnage or schedule-of-rates claims.
- Hands-on configuration of a project-tracking workflow for scheduling, deliveries, install records or cost reporting.
