We’re recruiting for an established cutting tool manufacturer supplying precision tooling into engineering and manufacturing businesses. Its products support metal cutting and machining applications, where the right tooling choice can make a measurable difference to productivity and production costs.
Based in Melbourne, you’ll spend much of your time visiting customers, understanding their machining requirements and developing business across your territory.
You’ll build relationships with machinists, workshop owners, production managers and engineering teams. Some conversations will involve an immediate tooling requirement. Others will take investigation, technical input and follow-up before you earn the business.
This suits someone who enjoys opening doors and has the technical understanding to make the meeting worthwhile.
What you’ll take ownership of
- Generate current business through prospecting, workshop visits and consistent follow-up.
- Grow existing accounts by understanding their operations and identifying further tooling opportunities.
- Help customers select suitable products and coordinate technical support for more involved applications.
- Manage quotes, customer activity and your pipeline through established sales processes.
Who we’d like to speak with
You’ll bring experience in cutting tools, CNC machining, precision engineering or a closely related technical field, ideally with experience selling to manufacturing customers. We are also open to someone with a closely related technical product sales cycle.
You should be comfortable discussing machining applications, asking practical questions and explaining why a particular solution suits the job.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys external sales, organises their own week and follows through on commitments. You’ll need the confidence to approach new customers, alongside the judgement to involve technical colleagues when an application needs a closer look.
