Step up into leadership with William Adams.
We’re looking for an experienced Team Leader to join our Traralgon workshop and lead a team of skilled technicians responsible for rebuilding and maintaining Caterpillar equipment.
This is a hands-on leadership role where your technical experience and ability to get the best from people will make a real difference. You’ll coordinate daily workflow, support your team, drive performance and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the high standards expected of Caterpillar.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Service Supervisor, you’ll provide day-to-day leadership to the workshop team, helping ensure we deliver quality work safely and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and support a team of skilled technicians, including performance, development and training
- Coordinate daily workflow and monitor work in progress to meet agreed targets
- Drive workshop productivity, labour utilisation and repair and maintenance performance
- Work closely with Service Coordinators and Supervisors to manage priorities and scheduling
- Promote a strong safety culture and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Ensure work is completed to Caterpillar and William Adams quality standards
- Support the team with technical guidance and problem-solving when required
ABOUT YOU
You’re a confident and practical leader who knows how to get the best out of a team.
You’ll bring robust technical experience, a positive approach and the ability to keep things moving in a busy workshop environment.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
- A qualified Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic trade background
- Experience leading, motivating and developing a team
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- The ability to make sound decisions and think on your feet
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- A strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
