IWC has an exciting opportunity to work within the Medical Centre as a Full-time Indigenous Health Practitioner.
ABOUT IWC:
IWC is an Aboriginal community-controlled and multi-accredited health and wellbeing organisation that delivers services without discrimination to Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Bundaberg and the Wide Bay Burnett.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
The IHP will be involved across all aspects of primary health/clinical care delivered by the IWC. The IHP will have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, a solid work ethic and a commitment to delivering high-quality services to all IWC clients. The IHW works within a health/clinical environment following Best Practice guidelines.
DUTIES:
- Deliver culturally safe, respectful, and holistic health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, families, and the community.
- Support clients across their health journey, including health assessments, screening, treatment support, and follow-up care.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including GPs, nurses, allied health, and support staff.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated experience working in a Primary Health care setting.
- Ability to deliver culturally safe, respectful, and client-centered care.
- Experience in maintaining accurate client records and using clinical systems (or willingness to learn).
- Commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement, and professional development.
- A genuine passion for improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Care.
- Currently Registered with the AHPRA.
- A current driver's licence is essential or ability to obtain.
- Current CPR Certificate.
- A Federal Police Check or ability to obtain.
SALARY PACKAGE:
Your Salary Package is made up of the following:
- Salary Sacrifice Packaging valued up to $15,990 per annum – adding approximately $2,000 to your take-home pay (available after completion of probation).
- Meals and Entertainment Package up to $2,650 per annum (available after completion of probation).
- Enjoy a 4.5-day working week with no weekend work.
