Ngutu College is an independent, not-for-profit, socially just college on Kaurna Country in Woodville North, South Australia. Our learning programs weave Aboriginal knowledges together with the formal curriculum in an experiential environment, in collaboration with Kaurna Elders and community leaders.

About the role

The Educator in this position is responsible for Food Technology (Years 5-12). The Educator is responsible for developing and delivering engaging, inclusive, and culturally responsive programs that integrate Aboriginal perspectives, inquiry-based pedagogy, and project-based learning. Educators at Ngutu College draw on pedagogy that is culturally responsive, inquiry-driven and experiential. They create authentic opportunities for learning within the classroom and beyond. Educators work to support learners with diverse learning needs to achieve positive academic and personal outcomes. The Educator works collaboratively with other Educators and Co-Educators to support the learners' literacy, critical thinking, and understanding of history, culture, and society. Possibility for greater than 0.6 FTE depending on teaching specialisation and need.

About you

- Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum.





- Protected food handling experience.

- Proficiency in time management, organisation, and digital documentation.

- Ability to collaborate effectively in a technology-enabled learning environment.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Knowledge of inclusive education practices and culturally responsive pedagogy.

Requirements
The successful applicant will hold current:

- South Australian Teacher Registration

- Working With Children Check (WWCC) – Not Prohibited

- Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) Masterclass Certificate

- National Child Safety Training Certificate (Foundation and Advanced modules)

- First Aid Certificate
