About the role
This is far more than a laboratory-based testing role. You will lead technical assessments, provide expert compliance advice and reports, manage client projects from enquiry through to certification, and play a key role in mentoring engineers while maintaining the highest standards of technical excellence.
Key elements of the role but not limited to are:
- Leading compliance assessments and certification activities across a diverse range of electrical and electronic products
- Providing expert advice on EMC, electrical safety, radio, wireless and international regulatory requirements
- Ensure all work complies with ISO/IEC 17025 and internal procedures
- Reviewing and approving technical reports, test plans and compliance documentation
- Managing customer projects and acting as a key technical contact throughout the assessment process
- Interpreting complex Australian and international standards and translating them into practical outcomes for clients
- Supporting quotation and tender preparation for specialist testing and certification services
- Coaching and mentoring engineers and technical staff
- Contributing to the ongoing development of laboratory capability, technical expertise and quality systems
Ideally, you will have
- Degree-qualified Engineer in Electronics and Communications, Physics or related technical skilled qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in product compliance design, testing certification or regulatory engineering
- Strong knowledge of EMC, electrical safety, radio or telecommunications standards
- Experience within a NATA-accredited laboratory, certification body or similar technical environment
- Strong understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 and NATA accreditation requirements
- Ability to write, review and interpret technical reports and compliance documentation
- Strong client-facing communication skills and commercial awareness
- Leadership capability with the confidence to mentor and guide technical teams
