Engineering Trades Australia (ETA) is currently seeking an experienced Refrigeration Technician for an immediate-start FIFO opportunity within the mining industry.
This role will involve maintaining and servicing large-scale industrial refrigeration and HVAC systems across both surface and underground operations. Candidates with solid experience in ammonia refrigeration plants, mine cooling systems and industrial HVAC equipment are encouraged to apply.
There is also the potential for a permanent sign-on opportunity for the right candidate.
The Role
- FIFO/DIDO from Townsville or Cairns
- 8:6 or 7:7 roster options
- Day and night shifts available
- Wednesday-to-Wednesday swing
- Work across both surface and underground mining operations
- $75 per hour
- Immediate start available
- Contract duration currently unconfirmed
- Potential for permanent employment for the right candidate
Key Experience Required
Candidates must have experience working with large-scale refrigeration, cooling and HVAC systems, ideally within hard-rock mining or heavy industrial environments.
Relevant equipment and systems include:
- Large ammonia refrigeration plants
- Large R134A cooling plants
- Bulk air coolers
- Mine cooling packs
- Water chillers and heat exchangers
- Winder and lubrication system chillers
- HVAC switchboard pack units
- Packaged air conditioners
- Split-system air conditioning
- Emergency refuge chambers
About You
- Qualified Refrigeration Technician with relevant trade qualifications
- Demonstrated experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial refrigeration systems
- Strong understanding of HVAC and mine cooling infrastructure
- Previous hard-rock mining experience highly regarded
- Ability to work safely across surface and underground environments
- Available for an immediate start and the required FIFO roster
