About the role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Barista/Front of House (FOH) professional to join the team at Sanctum Cafe. This is a part-time position based in Cooks Hill, NSW 2300, offering flexibility to suit your lifestyle whilst being part of a vibrant hospitality environment. As a Barista/FOH, you will be the face of our cafe, delivering exceptional customer service whilst crafting quality beverages and managing the front-of-house operations. This role is pivotal in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring every guest leaves with a memorable experience.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and serving high-quality coffee, espresso-based drinks, and other beverages to our guests

- Taking customer orders accurately and efficiently, both in-house and for takeaway

- Maintaining a clean, hygienic, and organised work station, including espresso machines and equipment

- Processing payments and managing the point-of-sale system with accuracy

- Providing friendly, attentive customer service and responding to customer inquiries and requests

- Working collaboratively with kitchen and other FOH staff to ensure smooth service operations

- Restocking supplies

- Contributing to a positive team environment and supporting colleagues during busy service periods

What we're looking for

- Barista certification or proven experience as a barista in a professional cafe environment

- Strong customer service skills with a genuine passion for hospitality

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

- Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, espresso extraction,



and milk frothing

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation

- Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work varied shifts including mornings, weekends, and public holidays

- Kitchen and cooking experience not essential but it woukd be a bonus.
