About the role

H & L Pipelines is seeking a skilled and experienced Excavator Operator to join our team on a casual basis. This position is based in Logan Village, QLD 4207, and offers the flexibility of casual work arrangements. As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery on construction sites, primarily focused on excavation and pipeline-related projects. This role is integral to our operations, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

- Operating excavators and related heavy machinery on construction and pipeline project sites

- Conducting daily pre-operation equipment inspections and maintenance checks to ensure machinery is in safe working condition

- Excavating, moving and positioning materials according to project specifications and site plans

- Communicating effectively with site supervisors, crane operators and other team members to ensure safe and coordinated operations

- Adhering to all health and safety regulations, company policies and site-specific requirements

- Operating machinery in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices

- Assisting with the loading and unloading of materials and equipment as required

- Maintaining accurate records of equipment operation and site activities

What we're looking for

- Valid Heavy Equipment Operator certification or equivalent qualification in excavator operation

- Proven experience operating excavators in construction, civil works or pipeline environments

- Current driver's licence (minimum C class or equivalent)

- Working knowledge of health and safety legislation and site safety protocols

- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively under supervision





- Ability to read and interpret site plans and technical specifications

- Physical fitness and capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

- Reliability and punctuality, particularly important for casual work arrangements

- A safety-first mindset and commitment to preventing workplace incidents

- Experience with pipeline construction projects is highly desirable

- White card required.
