About the Role
Randstad has partnered with a major Queensland State Government department to source an experienced AO4 Project Support Officer specializing in civil and major infrastructure delivery.
Embedded within a high-performing capital works division, you will provide critical operational, financial, and administrative support across a multi-million-dollar portfolio of civil works, roads, transport, and structural infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a proactive project administrator who thrives in a rapid-paced environment and understands government governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Track project milestones, schedules, and deliverables across civil infrastructure lifecycle phases (planning, design, procurement, and construction).
- Draft, review, and assemble high-quality briefing notes, Ministerial correspondence, procurement papers, and submissions aligned with Queensland Government standards.
- Assist in the administration of Detailed Business Cases (DBCs) and business cases for complex, large-scale civil works.
- Process transactional project data, monitor cash flows, perform variance analysis, and generate accurate expenditure reports within Content Manager (eDRMS) and Aurion.
- Analyze contract claims, variations, and risk registers to assist Project Managers and Directors in budget control and risk mitigation.
- Provide comprehensive secretariat support for Project Steering Committees and inter-agency working groups, maintaining accurate records, action logs, and reporting packs.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Demonstrated experience providing administrative or coordination support within civil infrastructure, capital works,
or public sector project environments (AO4 level equivalent).
- Strong working knowledge of government processes, project governance, and capital allocation frameworks.
- High-level competency in Microsoft Excel (advanced financial modeling/data analysis) and Word, along with hands-on experience using eDRMS platforms (e.g., Content Manager / TRIM) and corporate ERPs (e.g., Aurion, SAP).
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to draft clear, concise executive correspondence and technical documentation for senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to interpret financial data, contractual documents, and project schedules to identify risks and resolve reporting variances independently.
What's on Offer
- $62.90 per hour + superannuation.
- Central Brisbane Office location
- Stable contract length
- Weekly pay cycles, dedicated consultant support, confidential EAP access, and exclusive contractor discounts (Myer, Woolworths, JB Hi-Fi, and more).
