About this opportunity
This position provides engineering and project management support within Council’s road maintenance function, with responsibility for planning, coordinating and delivering assigned components of the road maintenance program, budgets and resources.
The position is based in Beaudesert, but you may be required to work from any of Council’s offices (Boonah and Tamborine Mountain) or facilities within the Scenic Rim.
Additionally, you’ll also …
• Undertake the project management, planning, prioritisation and delivery of assigned components of Council’s road maintenance program across sealed and unsealed roads, drainage and associated transport infrastructure, including directing internal crews, contractors and resources to achieve required outcomes in accordance with asset management principles, service levels,
legislation and engineering standards.
• Investigate and resolve road maintenance issues and community requests, providing appropriate engineering advice, determining suitable maintenance responses within Council’s adopted service levels, and liaising with property owners, government agencies, service authorities, contractors and other stakeholders as required.
• Monitor expenditure and program performance for assigned components of the road maintenance program, contributing to budget forecasting, and assist in the annual budget development and longer-term financial planning including the development of the 10 year Capital Program.
• Prepare technical reports, correspondence, community responses, work instructions and briefings relating to assigned road maintenance activities and provide timely updates on program progress.
About you…
• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) - recognised by Engineers Australia and with extensive experience.
• Project Management and/or relevant experience working within the Civil Construction and Maintenance Industry.
• Queensland General Construction Safety Induction Card (white card).
• Demonstrated experience in successfully managing the development and delivery of a program of diverse municipal and civil projects.
• Knowledge of the management of transport infrastructure in accordance with statutory and legislative requirements.
