About the Opportunity
Australian Training Company is looking for a motivated, hands-on Apprentice Forklift / Mobile Plant Technician to join a workshop team and kick-start a career in a skilled mechanical trade.
This is a full-time, four-year apprenticeship where you'll learn to service, diagnose and repair a range of material handling equipment, including electric, LPG and diesel forklifts.
Working alongside experienced, qualified technicians, you'll develop practical mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills while completing a nationally recognised qualification, such as a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology.

What You'll Be Doing
- Assist with servicing and preventative maintenance on forklifts and material handling equipment
- Learn to identify and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic faults
- Assist with repairs and component overhauls under the guidance of qualified technicians
- Develop practical skills using specialist tools and diagnostic equipment
- Attend TAFE training and complete required coursework and logbook activities
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures
Essential Attributes
We're looking for someone who is:
- Genuinely interested in mechanics, machinery and how things work
- Hands-on, practical and keen to learn new skills
- Reliable, punctual and committed to completing an apprenticeship
- Able to follow instructions and work safely
- A good communicator who is willing to learn from experienced tradespeople
- Prepared to attend TAFE and complete all training requirements
- A current driver's licence holder or actively working towards obtaining one
Desirable Attributes
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- Completion of Year 11 or Year 12
- Completion of a pre-apprenticeship course in mechanical, automotive or a related field
- Experience or hobbies involving cars, motorbikes, engines, tools or machinery
- Previous workshop, mechanical or hands-on work experience
