As an Intern Pharmacist, you will work closely with experienced pharmacists and the pharmacy team, developing the knowledge and practical skills required for pharmacist registration. Your role will be wide-ranging, providing exposure to both clinical and operational aspects of pharmacy. You will be supported throughout your internship with training, mentoring and opportunities to develop your professional skills.
Key responsibilities
- Dispense and supply prescription medications under the supervision of a registered pharmacist
- Provide medication counselling and patient education
- Develop confidence in S2/S3 medication recommendations and counselling
- Assist with medication reconciliation and clinical pharmacy activities
- Assist pharmacists with clinical queries and patient enquiries
- Assist with stock management, unpacking and rotation of medications
- Participate in pharmacist-led training and professional development
- Work towards completing all requirements of your pharmacist internship
- Perform and deliver professional services like Vaccinations and injections
About you
- Pharmacy degree completed or eligible to commence a pharmacist internship in Australia
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to take on new challenges
- Previous pharmacy experience is highly regarded
