Hays is currentlypartnering with Murdoch University to recruit an experienced FinancialAccountant for a six-month maternity leave contract within their Procurementand Financial Performance division.
This is anexcellent opportunity for a qualified accounting professional to join a largeand collaborative finance function, supporting key financial reporting, assetaccounting and audit activities during a critical reporting period.
Your New Role
Reporting to theFinancial Accounting team leadership, you will be responsible for delivering arange of financial accounting and reporting activities, including:

- Month-end accounting and financial reporting
- Balance sheet reconciliations and variance investigation
- Fixed asset accounting and reporting
- Lease accounting and asset management activities
- Capital project accounting and asset capitalisation
- Supporting year-end financial reporting requirements
- Assisting with the preparation and coordination of financial audits
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and external auditors
- Providing ad hoc financial accounting support as required
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successfulin this role, you will demonstrate:

- CA or CPA qualification (essential)
- Previous Financial Accountant experience in a medium to large organisation




- Strong understanding of fixed assets, lease accounting and capital projects
- Experience performing complex reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
- Knowledge of financial reporting and audit processes
- Strong ERP systems experience (Workday exposure beneficial but not essential)
- The ability to work independently and quickly adapt to current environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
