Long Term Contract Opportunity | Major Structural Project | Brisbane CBD Location
Your Recent Company Join a large Queensland organisation responsible for managing and protecting one of the state's most critical transport asset portfolios.
Your New Role As a Structural Engineer, you will provide specialist engineering expertise to support bridge asset management and heavy vehicle access assessments and network infrastructure planning.Working within a highly regarded engineering team, your responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking structural analysis and bridge capacity assessments for heavy vehicle access applications.
- Assessing and validating bridge capabilities across freight and general access networks.
- Performing heavy vehicle load assessments and engineering reviews of bridge infrastructure.
- Reviewing inspection reports and providing professional recommendations regarding structural condition and engineering risk.
- Conducting data quality audits across bridge asset management systems and databases.
- Supporting the preparation, review and certification of Structure Management Plans (SMPs).
- Assisting with the development of policies, strategies and initiatives relating to freight networks and excess mass vehicle operations.
- Identifying opportunities to streamline and automate engineering and asset management processes.
- Contributing to long-term asset management strategies and future network planning initiatives.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- RPEQ qualification in Structural Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in structural design, structural assessment or heavy vehicle access.
- Strong structural analysis skills, ideally within bridge or transport infrastructure environments.
- Experience interpreting bridge inspection reports and assessing engineering risk.
- Knowledge of bridge asset management principles and infrastructure lifecycle management.
- Experience working with engineering asset databases and inventory management systems.
- Excellent technical report writing and the ability to explain complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
