This high-profile Federal Government department plays an important role in delivering initiatives that support Australia’s energy and environmental priorities.An exciting opportunity is available for two experienced APS4 Executive Assistants to join a busy and collaborative division. Each successful candidate will provide dedicated support to a Branch Head.
These positions are available as non-ongoing contracts for an initial 6–12-month period, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency for the right candidates.
Your new role
As an APS4 Executive Assistant, you will provide professional, proactive and high-quality support to a Branch Head. You will work in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and helping ensure the smooth operation of the executive office.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing complex calendars, appointments and meeting schedules
- Monitoring the Branch Head’s inbox and prioritising correspondence
- Coordinating meetings, travel arrangements and itineraries
- Preparing meeting papers, briefing packs and routine correspondence
- Liaising professionally with internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinating actions, deadlines and follow-up activities
- Maintaining accurate records and document management processes
- Providing general administrative and executive support as required
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this position,
you must have:
- Previous experience working as an Executive Assistant within the Australian Public Service
- A current Baseline security clearance
- Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives, ideally at SES or Branch Head level
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of discretion
- A proactive, professional and solutions-focused approach
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Word and Teams
- Australian citizenship
