Program Scheduler - Cairns

Our client is a highly regarded organisation delivering a diverse portfolio of building, maintenance, and infrastructure projects across the region. Due to continued project growth, an opportunity has become available for an experienced AO6 Program Scheduler to support the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of multiple programs and projects.This contract position offers an attractive $79.17 per hour, commencing 16 October 2026 through to 30 April 2027, with the possibility of extension.
Your new role
As the AO6 Program Scheduler, you will play a critical role in supporting project delivery teams through the development, maintenance, and coordination of project schedules, workforce planning, and resource allocation activities.Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and updating high-level project and program schedules
- Monitoring project milestones, deliverables, critical dates, and project timelines
- Identifying schedule delays, variances, risks, and potential impacts to delivery
- Facilitating Planning and Scheduling Meetings with project delivery teams
- Reviewing program updates and communicating key information to stakeholders
- Updating the Field Staff Planning Calendar (FSPC) and workforce planning schedules
- Supporting resource allocation, apprentice coordination, and work experience placement planning
- Assisting with the development and ongoing maintenance of project schedules
- Collecting, validating, and analysing project information for scheduling and reporting purposes
- Responding to scheduling, planning,
and project reporting enquiries
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure projects remain on track and resources are effectively utilised
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in project scheduling, program coordination, planning, or project administration
- Strong experience using Microsoft Project, Excel, or similar scheduling and reporting software
- Ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
- High-level organisational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working within construction, maintenance, infrastructure, government, or project-based environments will be highly regarded
- Ability to identify schedule risks and proactively provide solutions
