Full-time Chef position available in Bennetts Green NSW 2290.

Position Overview

XS Espresso - a vibrant café and restaurant group known for serving breakfast, brunch classics, decadent desserts and innovative dishes across more than 23 locations in Sydney and Newcastle, including Bennetts Green.

As a Chef at XS Espresso, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting menu items, supporting menu development, supervising kitchen operations and maintaining food safety and quality standards. This position requires strong culinary skills, effective teamwork, attention to detail and the ability to perform in a rapid-paced café environment.

Position Responsibilities and Tasks

- Plan, coordinate and oversee the daily preparation of menu items and specialty dishes served at the Bennetts Green café.
- Supervise cooking processes to ensure consistent quality, taste and presentation across breakfast, brunch, dessert and other menu offerings.
- Select ingredients and monitor food inventory to maintain freshness, quality and compliance with food safety standards.
- Modify recipes where required to accommodate dietary requirements, seasonal ingredient availability or customer preferences.




- Oversee and train kitchen assistants and support staff to maintain efficient, safe and coordinated kitchen operations.
- Ensure all food handling, preparation and storage activities comply with hygiene regulations and workplace safety standards.
- Customise, develop, refine dishes and special offerings suited to the XS Espresso dining concept.
- Minimise food waste and support cost-effective kitchen practices while maintaining service speed and food quality in a fast-paced café environment.

Qualifications and Skills

- Minimum 3 years experience as a Chef.
- Solid understanding of food preparation, safety and hygiene best practices.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong time management and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, attention to detail and a passion for delivering quality food.
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively to a supportive team culture.

Salary

The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $80,000 - $85,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
