The Role

Duties Include being:

- Accountable for procurement planning, tendering and contract formation and contract management activities, ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies, processes and procedures.
- Provide advice, direction, assistance and services for procurement policy, technical, commercial, legal, financial investigation and other requirements to support contract management outcomes.
- Use experience to deliver procurement related documentation including templates, schedule, correspondence, reports, submissions, plans and strategies, risk and performance reviews, contract change proposals and other contract management documentation.
- Apply legal principles, legislative and policy compliance obligations and critical commercial risk and performance requirements related to procurement and contract management.

This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. Position is currently based in Melbourne however consideration will be given to applicants from other locations.

About our Team

The Directorate of Security Operations (DSO), within the Estate Service Delivery (ESD) Branch provides protective security services across the Defence Estate. This is achieved through the management of Access Control Officers, National pass Officer for the provision of Defence Common Access Cards (DCACs), Defence-Australian Federal Police Memorandum of Understanding (AFP MOU), Electronic Access Control Systems and Visitor Management Systems.

Within the Contract Management function as an APS 6 Contract Management Officer,



you will be accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex contract management work within an integrated workforce.

As the APS 6 Contract Management Officer, you will have a considerable level of stakeholder engagement as one of a small team who manage the Base Services Access Control contract for MSS Security and Wilson Security.
