The key duties of the position include:
The Role
The APS 4 Administration Officer works under limited direction to deliver high-quality administrative and business support services. The role requires sound judgement, strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while contributing to the achievement of unit objectives.
The key responsibilities are to:
- Manage and coordinate a range of administrative functions including monitoring and actioning the Registry Inbox, processing document workflows and maintaining electronic records.
- Coordinate domestic travel arrangements and administer travel entitlements in accordance with Defence policy and procedures.
- Interpret and apply policies and procedures to support personnel administration activities, including the use of financial and human resource management systems.
- Provide accurate advice and administrative support to Defence personnel and stakeholders on operational and administrative matters.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.
- Draft, review and coordinate routine correspondence, reports and other documents.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance administrative processes and service delivery.
About our Team
The 13th Brigade is the Australian Army's Reserve combat brigade in Western Australia and plays a vital role in supporting Army capability, domestic operations and national preparedness. Opportunities are available within the 11th/28th Battalion, Royal Western Australia Regiment (11/28 RWAR) and the 16th Battalion, Royal Western Australia Regiment (16 RWAR), which collectively support Army Reserve personnel and operations across the state.
As part of 11/28 RWAR or 16 RWAR, you will work closely with both military and civilian personnel,
providing essential administrative support that underpins workforce readiness and operational effectiveness. You will be a collaborative team member who demonstrates initiative, sound judgement and professionalism when engaging with Defence personnel and stakeholders. Experience using administrative, financial, personnel and records management systems will be highly regarded, along with a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.

Security Clearance:
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at Negative Vetting Level 1.
