The Role
Reporting to the EL1 Assistant Director, the APS4 Program Officer is responsible for providing primary administrative, logistical and coordination support for the Murra Program, a student placement program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. The role supports the delivery of recruitment, onboarding, participant engagement and development activities, maintains program records and data, and acts as a key point of contact for participants and stakeholders.
This role provides culturally safe support for the program and its participants, including guided onboarding, participant pastoral care and bespoke engagement activities throughout placements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Working under limited direction, the APS4 contributes to the efficient and effective administration of program activities, ensures established processes are followed, and supports the delivery of positive outcomes for participants and the department, including:
- Administer recruitment, onboarding and employment documentation for students
- Coordinate student placements, meetings and events.
- Maintain program records and reporting.
- Respond to participant and supervisor enquiries.
- Prepare routine correspondence and communication materials.
- Coordinate Journey Sessions, Yarning Circles and engagement activities.
- Support relationships with universities and internal stakeholders.
- Escalate complex participant or program issues to the Assistant Director
- Provide administrative support across other entry-level programs as required
Capabilities
