Council is seeking a motivated Plant Operator (Street Sweeper) to join our Civil Operations team.
In this hands-on role, you will help keep our roads, streets, car parks and public spaces clean, secure and well-presented by operating Council's street sweeping plant and associated equipment. You will also contribute to a range of civil maintenance activities that support the ongoing upkeep of Council's infrastructure.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys operating machinery, working outdoors, contributing to the community, and being part of a supportive team environment.
- Permanent, full-time position.
- The position works Monday to Friday and includes early morning starts to meet operational requirements.
- Remuneration package of $2,416.26 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $2,899.51 gross per fortnight + superannuation (12%).

Key Responsibilities
As Plant Operator (Street Sweeper), you will:
- Operate and maintain street sweeping plant and associated equipment.
- Undertake road, kerb and gutter sweeping, leaf collection, car park maintenance and spill or accident clean-up activities.
- Assist with a variety of civil maintenance and labouring tasks, including stormwater, bridge, roadside and street furniture maintenance works.
- Support traffic management and site safety requirements.
- Maintain plant, equipment and work areas to a high standard.
- Work safely and in accordance with Council policies, procedures and industry standards.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A current NSW Class MR Driver Licence.
- A current General Construction Induction Training (White Card).
- Experience operating plant and equipment relevant to civil maintenance, construction or street sweeping activities.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Sound communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to accurately complete workplace documentation and safety records.
In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, the successful applicant is required to be vaccinated for Hepatitis B and will be asked to provide evidence of this.
