We are currently seeking a Permanent Full-Time Team Leader - Parks Amenity and Maintenance to join our Parks Services team based at the Sunshine Operations Centre.

The role:

Reporting to the Coordinator Parks Amenity and Maintenance, this position provides leadership and direction to the Parks Amenity and Maintenance team and supports the delivery of timely, efficient and high-quality maintenance programs and customer service.

- This is a hands-on operational leadership role suited to someone who enjoys leading people, coordinating works, solving problems and continually looking for ways to improve service delivery.
- The successful candidate will play an important role in creating a positive, safe and high-performing team culture while ensuring programmed and reactive maintenance activities are delivered effectively.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Providing effective day-to-day leadership, supervision and support to Parks Amenity and Maintenance staff.
- Planning, scheduling and monitoring annual, monthly and daily maintenance programs.
- Coordinating programmed and reactive works while ensuring staff, plant, fleet and other resources are effectively deployed.
- Leading the triage and scheduling of customer requests and engaging directly with residents where required.
- Supporting playground and other safety inspection programs and ensuring identified works are appropriately actioned.
- Conducting operational,



plant and safety audits and ensuring compliance with Council's OHS requirements, SWMS, JSAs and safe work procedures.
- Supporting the Coordinator with contractor management, reporting, KPI monitoring, purchase orders and operational budget monitoring.
- Driving continuous improvement across work practices, systems, programs and service delivery.
- Supporting staff development, performance discussions, training and competency requirements.
- Assisting with the day-to-day management of the Sunshine Depot, including site security, emergency management, fire prevention, contractor access and general depot operations.
- Providing field-based support to operational crews when required to assist with service delivery.

To be considered you will have:

- Demonstrated experience supervising and leading operational employees and developing positive, high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated experience within parks, open space infrastructure maintenance or a similar operational environment.
- Experience planning and preparing work programs and coordinating day-to-day operational activities.
- Robust knowledge and practical application of Occupational Health and Safety requirements, including SWMS, JSAs and workplace safety audits.
- Experience managing contractors and coordinating operational resources.
- Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to professionally respond to customer enquiries and complaints.
- Experience using digital job-tracking, asset management or maintenance management systems.
- Experience monitoring KPIs, maintaining accurate operational data and contributing to performance reporting.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond to changing operational priorities.
- The ability and willingness to provide hands-on field support to operational teams when required.
- A current Medium Rigid (MR) Driver Licence – essential.
- A Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver Licence is desirable.
