Join QLeave's growing Compliance team and play a key role in strengthening compliance outcomes across Queensland's portable long service leave schemes.

As we continue to expand our Compliance function, we are seeking four permanent Senior Investigators to undertake complex compliance and investigative activities across the building and construction, contract cleaning and community services industries and contribute to the continued development of a mature, risk-based compliance function.

About the Role

As part of the ongoing expansion of QLeave's Compliance function, multiple Senior Investigator positions are available.

In this role, you will undertake complex compliance and investigative activities across the building and construction, contract cleaning and community services industries. You will assess and respond to potential legislative breaches, provide high-level legislative advice, contribute to stakeholder education and engagement initiatives, and support consistent compliance outcomes across QLeave's portable long service leave schemes.

Working within a growing and evolving team, you will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and provide guidance and support to other team members in delivering proportionate and effective compliance responses.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

- Respond to and investigate alleged legislative breaches, including planning, information and evidence gathering, compliance activities and preparing matters for referral to the Enforcement team.
- Conduct desktop investigations,



site inspections and other compliance activities in accordance with QLeave's Compliance and Enforcement Strategy, team priorities, plans and procedures.
- Exercise authorised officer powers, where appropriate, under the legislation governing QLeave's three portable long service leave schemes.
- Undertake high-level research and reviews and prepare comprehensive reports and associated documentation for senior and executive leaders and the General Manager.
- Provide accurate, high-level legislative advice to stakeholders and team members to support voluntary compliance, education and collaboration initiatives.
- Mentor and guide team members to support consistent and proportionate responses to potential legislative breaches.

What We're Looking For

For this role, we will consider your:

- Demonstrated experience in conducting and managing compliance activities and complex investigations, including preparing comprehensive reports, statutory notices, decision notices.
- Experience analysing, interpreting and applying legislation,



policies and procedures in a compliance or regulatory environment.
- Ability to build strong and enduring working relationships for joint delivery of outcomes.
- Ability to tailor written and verbal messaging to communicate in a explicit, concise and articulate manner to a variety of audiences.
- Conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Aptitude and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative work environment that encourages a skilled, motivated and productive team.

Intrastate and overnight travel may be required for this role.

Applicants must have a ‘C' or ‘CA' class licence.

There are no mandatory qualifications for this role, however a Certificate IV or Diploma in Government Investigations, Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Justice or similar qualification would be highly regarded.
