An opportunity to join an established power generation business in a hands-on Accountant role within its Wangara head office.

With branches across Australia and an international shareholder connection, the business offers exposure to financial reporting, operational accounting and systems within a small finance team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your main focus will be delivering accurate month-end accounts and reporting. You will also work with interstate branches, review equipment sales margins and support cash flow, compliance and finance process improvements.

Day-to-day matters will include:

- Preparing month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
- Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and financial systems
- Preparing management accounts and reporting to the overseas shareholder
- Reviewing equipment sales margins and investigating discrepancies
- Ensuring accurate month-end cut-offs and supporting job costing
- Preparing cash flow forecasts and tracking daily cash movements
- Preparing and lodging BAS and PAYG requirements
- Providing backup to the payroll function
- Supporting annual budgets, financial statements and external audits
- Liaising with interstate branches and operational stakeholders
- Troubleshooting ERP discrepancies and improving finance processes
- Assisting across other finance and administration duties as required

About You

- Relevant experience across month-end accounting, journals and reconciliations
- Accounting qualifications, such as a diploma or degree




- Confidence working with an ERP system; MYOB EXO experience preferred
- Solid attention to detail and the ability to meet reporting deadlines
- Clear communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across the business
- A practical approach and willingness to assist across a small team
- Interest in learning, improving processes and taking on responsibility
- Full Australian Working Rights
- CA/CPA qualifications or progress towards completion will be welcomed.

You will suit a broad, hands-on role where you can work closely with the Financial Controller and develop your understanding of the business.

Particulars

- Permanent, full-time position
- Wangara head office with modern premises and on-site parking
- $120,000–$130,000 + superannuation, depending on experience
- Reports to the Financial Controller
- Predominantly office-based, with flexibility around start/finish times and occasional working from home where needed
- Documented handover and support from the Financial Controller
- Scope to develop and take on greater responsibility over time

The business operates to a December financial year-end, with reporting and audit activity continuing into early January.
