Our Branch
Fleet Services provide full lifecycle management of fleet assets, helping Council to deliver services to the city of Brisbane. Our fleet includes a large range of assets including but not limited to: cars, trucks, trailers, mobile lunchrooms, boats, excavators, road sweepers, forklifts, buggy's, pumps, generators, chainsaws, blowers, whipper snippers and mowers.
The Role
As the Fleet Asset Optimisation Officer, you will combine strong technical fleet expertise with procurement knowledge across trucks, light commercial vehicles, and both major and minor plant equipment. You will possess a solid understanding of vehicle design, operational performance, and functionality, enabling you to develop fit-for-purpose specifications, body configurations, and equipment solutions. Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and manufacturers, you will use your technical capability and stakeholder engagement skills to deliver safe, compliant, operationally effective, and cost-efficient fleet outcomes.
To be successful you will have:
- experience in the procurement, management and optimisation of fleet, plant and equipment
- knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and workplace health and safety legislation relating to plant and equipment
- experience preparing technical specifications and supporting documentation
- strong project management skills, with the ability to deliver outcomes on time and within budget
- experience evaluating suppliers and managing supplier performance
- ability to develop practical and effective maintenance plans
- excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- a collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
