Join the Vascular Surgery team as a Clinical Nurse, delivering advanced vascular nursing care, providing clinical leadership and mentoring staff while driving quality improvement and exceptional patient outcomes within a specialist surgical service.
About the role
The Clinical Nurse provides advanced clinical nursing care and expert clinical leadership within the Vascular Surgery Ward at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. Working within a specialised 30-bed surgical unit, the role supports patients with a range of complex vascular conditions while promoting contemporary, evidence-based and patient-centred care.
The successful candidate will apply advanced assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation skills to manage complex clinical situations, support patients and families throughout their healthcare journey, and provide leadership to nursing staff. The role also contributes to education, quality improvement initiatives, portfolio management, and the ongoing enhancement of vascular surgical services through collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

- Provide advanced clinical nursing care and apply expert assessment and intervention skills for patients with complex vascular conditions.
- Support and guide registered nurses and non-registered nursing staff in managing complex clinical situations.
- Coordinate care and respond effectively to sudden changes in patient health status using advanced clinical judgement.
- Deliver education and support to patients and their families to promote recovery, independence and informed healthcare decisions.
- Lead quality improvement, portfolio management and evidence-based practice initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
