Join our Out of Home Care directorate as a Lead Project Officer and contribute to projects designed to support South Australian carers. Based in the Adelaide CBD, you’ll work across multiple projects, drawing on your research, policy development and coordination skills to deliver work with a clear purpose. You’ll have the opportunity to work across a range of strategic initiatives, broaden your experience in policy and project delivery, and contribute to meaningful outcomes for carers.

This role will suit someone who can work independently, take direction when needed and stay agile as priorities shift. You’ll be comfortable managing competing demands, navigating change and moving between different pieces of work as new priorities emerge. You will be responsible for:

- Leading the development and implementation of projects, managing plans, priorities and timeframes
- Researching and monitoring developments in child protection practice, policy and legislation
- Preparing high-quality briefings and reports for management and executives
- Consulting with government agencies, service partners and key stakeholders to support project outcomes
- Contributing to policy and strategic initiatives, including legislative reform and project proposals.

About you:

- You have experience undertaking research and analysis to inform policy development




- You can identify and deliver strategic and operational outcomes in a changing environment
- You communicate confidently and concisely, both verbally and in writing, including when providing briefings and advice
- You manage competing priorities effectively, balancing your workload and meeting established deadlines
- You understand best practice in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to promote the safety and wellbeing of children.
