About the role
The Primary Health Team Leader will lead the establishment and delivery of the Psychological Therapies for Underserviced Populations Program across Bathurst, Orange and surrounding region. This role is responsible for service implementation, stakeholder engagement, workforce mobilisation, governance, and operational readiness, ensuring a smooth transition and successful commencement of services.
Following implementation, the Team Leader will provide operational leadership and clinical oversight, leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based psychological therapy services that meet community needs and contractual requirements.
- You will be required to undertake a range of tasks including but not limited to the following:
- Lead the implementation and establishment of a new psychological therapies service across the region.
- Develop and manage project plans to ensure successful service commencement.
- Build and maintain robust partnerships with key stakeholders and community organisations.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning activities.
- Lead the development of referral pathways, intake processes and service procedures.
- Provide leadership, supervision and support to multidisciplinary teams.
- Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Provide clinical leadership to support evidence-based, high-quality service delivery.
- Monitor service performance, quality outcomes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance, contractual requirements and relevant legislation.
Key Selection Criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Mental Health, Nursing, Allied Health, Community Services, Health Management or a related discipline, with current professional registration, accreditation where applicable.
- Demonstrated experience establishing, managing, and improving services, programs, or projects, with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, quality outcomes, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience leading service mobilisation, implementation projects, workforce establishment and transition activities within health, mental health or community service settings.
- A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a Criminal Record Check (CRC)
issued within the last 12 months that includes working with vulnerable groups
- Driver’s license and access to a reliable and insured motor vehicle, and willingness to travel throughout Western NSW as required.
Desirable
- Experience working with Primary Health Networks (PHNs), Local Health Districts (LHDs), General Practitioners, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and commissioned health programs.
- Experience implementing mental health programs or services in regional, rural or remote communities.
- Knowledge of the mental health service sector, stepped care models and contemporary approaches to psychological therapy service delivery.
- Previous experience supervising multidisciplinary teams or providing clinical leadership.
- COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended.
Full-time is preferred however, part-time and casual arrangements may be considered for the successful candidate.
