The Opportunity

At Icon Water, strong community relationships are essential to the successful delivery of the services and infrastructure our community relies on every day.

As Manager Community Engagement, you will lead the team responsible for shaping how we engage with customers, communities and stakeholders across Canberra. Working across community expectations, operational delivery and major infrastructure programs, you will play a key role in building trust, strengthening relationships and ensuring ongoing community engagement.

Partnering with leaders across the organisation,



you will drive a contemporary and consistent approach to community engagement, providing strategic advice on stakeholder management, community sentiment and reputation. From major projects to community education and outreach initiatives, your work will directly contribute to positive outcomes for both our organisation and the community we serve.

What You'll Bring

You are an experienced engagement leader who understands the importance of building trust and meaningful relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. With experience operating in complex environments, you are comfortable balancing community expectations, organisational priorities and reputational considerations to achieve positive outcomes.

You bring a cooperative leadership style and are skilled at influencing, advising and partnering with stakeholders at all levels. Passionate about community outcomes, you are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to an organisation that delivers essential services and makes a meaningful difference to the Canberra community.

Success in this role will be supported by:

- Expertise in community engagement, stakeholder engagement or strategic communications.

- Experience developing and implementing engagement frameworks, programs and governance approaches.

- Strong stakeholder management, consultation and influencing capability.

- Experience designing, delivering and leading engagement activities associated with significant projects, programs or organisational initiatives.





- Strong understanding of community sentiment, reputational risk and contemporary engagement practices.

- Experience leading and developing professional teams.

- Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement, social sciences or a related discipline.

- IAP2, Engagement Institute or equivalent engagement certification.
