We are growing fast and looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to join our team. If you love working closely with small business owners and want a role where your contributions actually matter, you’ll fit right in.

The Role

As an Intermediate Accountant, you will manage your own portfolio of small business clients, acting as their trusted advisor for day-to-day tax and compliance needs. You won't just be crunching numbers; you'll be helping entrepreneurs understand the story behind their financials.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and lodging Income Tax Returns for Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, SMSF and Individuals.

- Preparing and reviewing Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).

- Handling indirect tax compliance, including GST, FBT, Land Tax and Payroll Tax.

- Preparing accurate financial statements and management reports.

- Providing general small business advisory services, assisting clients with cloud accounting setups (Xero/MYOB), and troubleshooting bookkeeping queries.

- Liaising with the ATO and other statutory bodies on behalf of clients.

About You





You are a motivated professional who has moved past the graduate phase and is ready to take on more autonomy. You pride yourself on your accuracy, but you also know how to communicate complex tax concepts in plain English.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in a public practice/accounting firm setting.

- Tax Expertise: Strong, hands-on experience in preparing tax returns, BAS, and managing indirect taxes.

- Small Business Savvy: A genuine interest in the small business sector and a solid understanding of different business structures.

- Tech-Minded: Proficient in cloud accounting software and standard practice management tools.

- Qualifications: Either a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Commerce or fully certified TAFE Certificate. Progress toward or completion of CA qualifications is highly regarded.
