The ALLG is a not-for-profit organisation specialising in research that creates Better Treatments, Better Lives for people with blood cancers. Each year, over 18,000 Australians are diagnosed with a blood cancer like leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
For over 50 years, our member doctors have designed and implemented high-impact clinical trials for their patients and made research breakthroughs that have changed the lives of thousands of blood cancer patients worldwide.
This is a brand new role at ALLG, providing an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Fundraising Officer to ‘make your mark’ in a supported team that’s dedicated to blood cancer research.
The Role
We’re looking for a creative and enthusiastic Fundraising Officer with a generalist skill set, who loves variety in their work and is keen to utilise their skills to grow new relationships and fundraising revenue for an organisation that is making a real difference.
This position requires a creative, versatile and highly organised professional who can engage with donors, assist with fundraising and campaign activities, and generate new ideas to ensure the successful achievement of fundraising goals.
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Partnerships & Communications, this role is part of the wider ALLG team responsible for marketing, events, partnerships & fundraising. You’ll have the opportunity to be involved with a diverse range of activities and stakeholders, providing exposure to new areas. The measure of our team’s success is in the collaborations with our community – our ALLG Members, partners & supporters.
Your responsibilities include:
- Implement fundraising, grant and donor activities to engage and increase the ALLG supporter base
- Manage relationships and implement recognition and stewardship strategies to retain donors and supporters
- Develop and grow an active pipeline of prospects, including major donors, PAFs and Philanthropic Foundations,
and community / corporate partners
- Develop and implement engaging and sustainable new fundraising activities and campaigns to increase revenue
Key Skills & Criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated experience in fundraising, relationship management and philanthropic giving
- An effective self-starter with high level of initiative and proven results
- Knowledge and understanding of fundraising principals and practices
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work autonomously and multi-task to manage competing deadlines
- Exceptional written communication skills, with high attention to detail
- High-level interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including donors, foundations and organisations
- Experienced with MS Office suite and donor CRMs (eTapestry desirable)
- Exposure to health, science, or medical research highly desirable and a key advantage
