Blacktown City Council
Blacktown
Work that matters, done with people who care.
Get behind the machinery that keeps our community moving. Across parks, reserves, sports fields and roadsides, your work is visible every day. You operate tractors, mowers and other plant and equipment to maintain the public spaces our community uses and enjoys.
As a Plant/Tractor Driver, you carry out mowing, slashing, vegetation management and general greenspace maintenance across the city. You prepare and maintain sports fields, install and remove goal posts, mark playing fields, cover and uncover cricket wickets, and assist with garden, reserve and roadside maintenance. You complete pre-start checks, maintain plant and equipment, and work safely while delivering scheduled maintenance activities.
Your work helps keep parks, sporting facilities, reserves and open spaces secure, accessible and well maintained. The results are practical and visible, from freshly maintained sports fields to tidy roadsides and public spaces that residents use every day.
This role suits a reliable and safety-focused operator with experience in tractor operations and large-scale turf maintenance. You take pride in quality work, care for the equipment you operate,
work well as part of a team and are committed to delivering a high standard of service to the community.
At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:
- a secure, permanent, full-time role with one of Australia's largest councils
- an entry level salary commencing at $1,310.20 per week
- a 38-hour working week
- a Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
- 12% superannuation and competitive leave entitlements
- ongoing training and development support
- access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.
