City Hire is seeking a Hire Controller to join our team in Moorooka, Queensland. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing our equipment and asset hire operations. As a Hire Controller, you will be responsible for coordinating the movement, maintenance, and tracking of hired equipment, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. This position is integral to the smooth running of our business and directly impacts our ability to deliver quality service to our clients.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of equipment hire, including booking, allocation and tracking of assets
- Coordinate the dispatch and collection of hired equipment to and from customer sites
- Conduct equipment inspections and arrange routine maintenance to ensure items are in optimal condition
- Maintain accurate records of all hire transactions, equipment status and customer information
- Monitor equipment availability and manage inventory levels to meet customer demand
- Liaise with customers regarding hire inquiries, pricing, terms and conditions
- Process invoices and manage payments for completed hire agreements
- Identify and resolve issues related to damaged or missing equipment
- Contribute to achieving revenue targets and maintaining profitability of the hire operation
- Support the team in maintaining a safe and organised working environment
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in equipment hire management, asset control or similar administrative role within the trades and services sector
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction
- Proficiency with computer systems and hire management software
- Attention to detail with accurate record-keeping abilities
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and safety standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's licence is advantageous for site visits and equipment collection
- Physical capability to handle equipment movement and inspection tasks
