Your New Role
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will provide strategic leadership of the People and Culture function, leading the Branch to foster a high-performing culture that values diversity, inclusion and wellbeing across the organisation.
Through the development and delivery of contemporary workforce strategies, services and operations, you will enable their people to achieve organisational objectives.
A key focus of this role will be leading, directing and nurturing innovative, forward-thinking strategies that attract, retain and develop the workforce, while building organisational capability and supporting the achievement of the organisation’s vision.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Leading, managing and developing a high-performing People and Culture Branch, exercising a high level of autonomy and professional judgement to determine strategic priorities, manage branch resources and budgets, and deliver contemporary workforce strategies, services, programs and projects that support organisational objectives.
- Leading the development, implementation and evaluation of enterprise-wide workforce strategies that influence organisational capability, culture, performance and workforce sustainability.
- Providing strategic advice and recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team and senior leaders on complex and sensitive matters relating to People and Culture, industrial relations, workforce planning and organisational change, exercising professional judgement to influence decisions and resolve complex workforce matters.
- Leading the development and delivery of strategic workforce initiatives, including workforce planning, capability development, leadership and performance, workforce wellbeing, employee engagement, and the analysis and use of workforce data to inform decision-making.
- Representing the organisation in strategic partnerships with government agencies, professional bodies and external stakeholders to influence workforce practice and support organisational priorities.
- Strengthening organisational cultural capability through inclusive leadership, sound governance and people practices that promote respect, diversity, equity and social cohesion.
About You
- Proven track record of Human Resources leadership
- Proven experience implementing and delivering contemporary workforce strategies, services and operations
- Inspires others to embrace change initiatives, overcoming barriers and resistance through proactive consultation and engagement.
- Ability to recognises the unique talents and aspirations of the workforce and enhance capability through targeted development activities.
- Proven experience establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to influence outcomes and support organisational priorities.
- Proven ability to optimises the work environment, work design and culture to enable a positive, secure and healthy workplace.
- Ability to successfully complete a Criminal History Check
Relevant qualifications in Human Resource Management or similar would be highly regarded. Demonstrated high level experience in a strategic human resource management role in government would be highly advantageous.
