Be the Heart of Our Studio

At CODE (Centre of Dance and Exercise), we believe the warmth of our studio starts the second a family steps through the front door.

We’re looking for a Studio Coordinator to set the tone for our community, make new families feel instantly welcome, and keep our evening operations running smoothly. This is a high energy, relationship-focused front-of-house role perfect for someone seeking a steady gig outside of business hours - whether you're looking to build a long-term career in studio management, balancing studies, or fitting work around other professional or creative commitments.

A Typical Evening

- During changeover periods, you'll be greeting regular families, welcoming new trial students by name, helping teachers hand over younger dancers safely, and keeping the foyer warm and organised during hourly class transitions.

- In between, you'll manage the inbox, respond to family enquiries, handle enrolments, answer the phones, and support teachers during class.

- As the shift goes on and the emails and enquiries die down, you might dive into tailored projects based on your strengths. It could be anything from organising a concert to decorating the studio.

What You Bring to CODE

- Genuine Care: You care about our studio, students, and teachers. Because you care, you naturally build great relationships, take pride in keeping the space tidy, and look out for everyone around you.

- Eyes-Up Presence:

Even though you're busy answering emails, you still notice the small things, like a nervous child needing a smile, a parent with a quick question, or a teacher needing a hand.

- Initiative & Leadership: You naturally step in and handle things as you see them, without needing to be asked.

- Reliability & Ownership: You show up consistently, take pride in your work, and follow through on commitments.

The Details

- Schedule: 3–5 regular weekday evenings and/or weekend mornings across our Carnegie and Oakleigh studios.

- Growth: We offer stable, ongoing evening hours, with real scope to expand into greater operational responsibility or event coordination as the studio grows.

How to Apply

To apply, please submit a brief cover note answering our 3 application questions (listed below). We're reviewing applications as they come in and may fill the position before the job ad closes.

Application questions

- How do you approach managing a studio space that might have a nervous new student arriving for their very first trial class and a parent that needs to ask a question about their invoice, all while ensuring younger kids aren't wandering out the door unattended?

- Tell us about a time in a previous job, project, or role where you noticed a small operational or environmental detail that wasn't working and took initiative to fix or improve it without being asked.

- How does a part-time evening/weekend role at CODE fit into your current work or life mix, and what draws you to a community/creative space over a standard desk job? (Feel free to mention any connection to dance, movement, or the performing arts!)
