Brisbane South State Secondary College is currently seeking an exceptional and creative Teacher Aide to support our English, Humanities and Languages Department. As a Teacher Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students to create engaging, inclusive and high-performing learning environments. This position is ideally suited to an organised and proactive individual who enjoys working collaboratively with teachers to support student learning and achievement.
The successful applicant will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting every student's success while promoting our college values of Commitment, Inclusivity, Respect and Integrity.
This position is being offered in a Permanent Part-Time capacity (0.79FTE), 60 hours per fortnight.

Responsibilities:
As the Teacher Aide, your responsibilities will include:
Supporting Teaching and Learning
- Assisting teachers in the preparation and organisation of learning materials and classroom resources.
- Supporting students during classroom learning activities under the direction of a teacher.
- Working with individual students and small groups to support literacy, comprehension, research and learning activities.
- Encouraging student engagement, organisation and participation in learning.
- Supporting students with diverse learning needs to access curriculum and classroom activities.
Departmental Support
- Assisting the English, Humanities and Languages teaching teams with the preparation, development and organisation of learning resources.
- Supporting assessment processes through resource preparation, document collation and administrative assistance.
- Assisting with the organisation of excursions, cultural activities, presentations and curriculum enrichment programs.
- Attending excursions and/or sporting events and activities.
- Supporting departmental initiatives that promote literacy, global citizenship, intercultural understanding and student achievement.
- Assisting with the management, organisation and stocktaking of departmental resources and equipment.
Collaboration and Administration
- Collaborating effectively with teachers, Heads of Department and members of the Inclusive Practices team.
- Maintaining appropriate records and supporting teachers with documentation requirements.
- Assisting with clerical duties including filing, scanning, data entry, preparation of student resources and administrative support.
- Communicating effectively with staff, students and families while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
