As a Senior Child Safety Officer, you will:
- Recruit, assess and provide advice, education and support to foster and kinship carers, including complying with legislative requirements, departmental policies and procedures.
- Effectively and positively engage with current and potential foster and kinship carers as required to support them in their roles as carers and their engagement with the department.
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, children and parents to support the establishment and strengthening of effective safety and support networks, including connection to extended family and community.
- Provide high quality,
comprehensive casework support and advice to assist in informing decisions about the safety and protective needs of children where complex child protection concerns are present.
- Participate effectively as a team member in a multidisciplinary team to deliver well-planned family support services to vulnerable children and families.
- Actively contribute to a culture of continuous learning, training and career development, to ensure practice knowledge and skills are contemporary and evidence based.
- Prepare and maintain quality case records in accordance with departmental case management requirements.
