The Translink Operations Centre (TOC) is the central hub for public transport operations across Queensland, supporting the safe and reliable delivery of bus, rail, ferry and light rail services. Working in a dynamic 24/7 environment, the Operational Customer Communications team provides timely and accurate information to customers and stakeholders during service disruptions.
THE ROLE:
Some of your responsibilities as our Communications Coordinator will include:
• Creating and delivering operational customer communication in line with unplanned disruption communication policy across the Translink public transport network, including bus, rail, light rail and ferry services.
• Monitoring and analysing real-time disruption trends to produce timely and accurate customer messaging so public transport customers have the latest information to support their travel plans and stay informed throughout their journey.
• Preparing comprehensive incident briefs for internal and external stakeholders, providing clear, accurate and relevant information to support senior leaders' decision-making.
• Collaborating effectively within the Translink Operations Centre team, leveraging advanced systems and subject matter experts' knowledge to deliver high-quality operational customer communications.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational communication processes and improve the timeliness of customer notifications.
ABOUT YOU:
You are a skilled communicator who remains calm and focused in a fast-paced operational environment. You have experience producing clear,
accurate and customer-focused communications and can quickly assess information from multiple sources.
You are able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, exercise sound judgement and manage competing priorities in time-critical situations. Strong attention to detail, digital literacy and a willingness to learn new systems will support your success in the role.
