Hop To It Collective
Brisbane
Content, content, content.
If you live on Reels and TikTok, if you can't sit in a good restaurant without framing the plate, if you've got a genuine obsession with graphic design, and with what's working on social this week and not last year, keep reading.
Hop To It Collective is a marketing and creative agency in Brisbane. We're looking for a Social Media and Graphic Design Coordinator who can create at volume, keep the quality high, and give every client content and artwork they'd brag about.
Who we work with
Our clients sit across five main groups:
- Community and leagues clubs
- Hotels and pubs
- Bars
- Restaurants
- Technology and service providers
We work across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Business, TikTok and Threads. Day to day, our client focus sits mainly on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Google Business, with a handful of venues running TikTok as well.
About the role
You'll sit in our Creative department, reporting to the Head of Creative and working closely with our Customer Success Managers.
The heart of this job is content creation and graphic design. Every post, Reel, story and piece of artwork is a chance to grab attention and make people feel something real, with captions that capture the personality and energy of every brand we work with. Alongside that, you'll design the artwork that brings our venues to life: event posters, promo campaigns, menus, in-venue screens, signage and the graphics that tie it all together on and offline.
You'll live and breathe social every day. Design is where you'll grow.
One day you're filming a packed Friday night at a club. The next you're designing the poster for next month's tribute show. Then you're making a technology brand look sharp and sound human on LinkedIn.
You'll also have a hand in strategy. You'll sit in content planning sessions and bring formats, trends, design ideas and performance insight to the table. Strategy direction is set with the Head of Creative and the Customer Success Managers, and your creative instinct is a big part of what shapes it.
Where this role can go
There's plenty of room to grow here, and for the right person this role is a real path forward.
What you'll be doing
Creating content
- Create static tiles, carousels, stories and short-form video across a wide range of client brands
- Attend on-site content capture sessions at client venues, capturing food, beverage, atmosphere, events and staff moments
- Repurpose supplied and captured assets so every client gets maximum value out of every shoot
- Write captions with the right voice, hashtags and formatting for each platform
- Keep an eye on trends, formats and algorithm changes, and bring the good ones to the team
Running the accounts
- Manage content calendars and monthly content plans for your assigned accounts, prepared in advance for client review and approval
- Schedule and publish all approved content accurately, on time and correctly formatted for every platform
- Handle community management during business hours, replying to comments, messages and story interactions in each brand's voice
- Escalate complaints, negative reviews or anything sensitive to the relevant Customer Success Manager
- Put together monthly performance snapshots and reports covering reach, engagement, top content and what you'd do next
- Deliver to the standard of each client's package, whether they're on a lighter plan or a full content partnership
Designing
- Design compelling artwork across print, digital and social media
- Create event and promotional artwork for venues, including posters, menus, flyers, in-venue screen content, signage and banners
- Produce print-ready and digital-ready files with the right sizing, bleed, resolution and formats
- Build campaign creative that works across social, digital ads, email, websites and in-venue
- Work within existing brand guidelines, and help develop or refresh visual identities when the brief calls for it
- Build and maintain templates so the team can move quickly without losing consistency
Our tools
- Design across Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva
- Become the in-house expert in our own Hop To It Collective social media management platform, using it to plan, schedule, publish and report across the whole portfolio
- Track your workload, content and design jobs in Monday.com
- Keep the digital asset library, brand files and templates organised and labelled so the team can find what they need
Contributing to strategy
- Take part in content planning sessions and bring ideas for themes, series, platform-native formats and visual direction
- Share what you're seeing in the numbers and in the comments to help shape the next month's plan
- Suggest campaign concepts and creative treatments for venue promotions, events and seasonal activity
About you
Your camera roll is mostly food, venue lighting and half-finished content ideas, and your desktop has more fonts than it probably needs. You're obsessed with graphic design and typography, and you notice it everywhere: menus, shopfronts, packaging, gig posters.
You can tell the difference between a trend worth jumping on and one that'll age badly by Thursday, and you know when a design needs one more element and when it needs three fewer.
What we're after
- A design portfolio is essential, along with examples of social media accounts you've managed and content you've created
- 1 to 3 years in social media coordination, graphic design, content creation, digital marketing or similar
- Strong design skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) as well as Canva
- A good eye for typography, layout, colour and hierarchy, and the ability to work cleanly within brand guidelines
- You've run Meta accounts and ideally TikTok and LinkedIn, from planning through to posting, community management and reporting
- Confident capturing content on site with a phone, with a good eye for framing, light and the moment worth capturing
- Robust writer who can switch voice between brands without losing the plot
- Organised enough to keep dozens of accounts, calendars, design jobs and approval deadlines moving at once
- Comfortable picking up new platforms and tools quickly
- Familiar with scheduling tools and project management platforms (we use Monday.com)
Nice to have
- Short-form video skills, including shooting and editing in CapCut, Adobe Express, Premiere or similar
- Motion graphics or animation skills, such as After Effects or animated Canva work
- Qualifications in graphic design. Not essential if the work speaks for itself
- Experience or genuine interest in hospitality, bars, dining or entertainment
- Experience preparing artwork for print and working with printers or signage suppliers
- Experience coordinating design requests or working with other designers
- Curiosity about technology and service brands and how to make them interesting
Role details
- Reports to: Head of Creative
- Department: Creative
- Location: Brisbane and South East Queensland, hybrid, with regular travel to client venues. Some evenings and weekends depending on what's on
- Full time
- QLD driver's licence, or the ability to get one
- Laptop and gear supplied
Why work with us
- A creative-first role. Making it is the job, not an afterthought
- Variety across content and design: running accounts one hour, a poster campaign the next
- Dozens of accounts across clubs, pubs, bars, restaurants and technology brands
- A real path to leading design for the right person
- Your ideas get used. That's the whole reason we're hiring
- A small team that knows hospitality inside out and doesn't do things by committee
- Flexible hours
Show us your work. A design portfolio is essential, along with examples of social media accounts you've managed and content you've created.
