Midson Road Veterinary Clinic is an independently owned small animal general practice located in Epping, NSW.
We are a small, close-knit team with a strong group of long-term staff, and we are currently looking for a Permanent Part-Time Veterinary Nurse to join our team.
Due to changes within our staff roster, we are looking for a nurse who is able to commit to regular working days. At present, our greatest need is for Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with potential for additional days in the future as our staffing requirements change.
This position would suit a Certificate IV qualified Veterinary Nurse, or someone who is currently working towards their Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, who is looking for a stable part-time position within a supportive general practice.
About the Role
This is a hands-on nursing role working closely with our veterinarians and nursing team. Our nurses are involved in all aspects of patient care and the day-to-day running of the clinic.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting veterinarians with consultations and procedures
- Patient handling and restraint
- Surgical nursing and preparation
- Anaesthetic monitoring and patient recovery
- Inpatient and hospital patient care
- Medication administration under veterinary direction
- Pathology and laboratory procedures
- Preparing patients for surgery and other procedures
- Maintaining high standards of patient care and welfare
- Cleaning and preparing surgical and treatment areas
- Cleaning, laundry and general clinic duties
- Restocking and maintaining equipment
- Assisting with reception/client communication when required
- Providing support to the veterinary team with general day-to-day tasks
Essential Criteria
We are looking for someone who:
- Is Certificate IV qualified in Veterinary Nursing, or is currently working towards their Certificate IV
- Has a genuine passion for veterinary nursing and animal care
- Is reliable, punctual and committed to their role
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Is confident handling and restraining dogs and cats
- Has a good understanding of veterinary nursing principles
- Is comfortable working in a busy general practice environment
- Can work effectively as part of a small team
- Is able to take direction and also work independently when required
- Has good attention to detail
- Can remain calm and professional under pressure
- Is willing to participate in all aspects of clinic life, including cleaning and general duties
- Has a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Previous veterinary nursing experience is preferred. We are also happy to consider applicants currently completing their Certificate IV who have developed suitable practical nursing skills through their studies and placement experience.

Days & Hours
We are currently particularly seeking a nurse who can commit to working Tuesdays and Wednesdays on a regular basis.
There may be opportunities to increase the number of working days in the future depending on clinic requirements and staffing changes. Applicants who are looking for additional regular days may also be considered.
