Director of Nursing (DON) – Part-Time

Specialist Day Hospital & Vascular Dermatology Clinic | Chatswood, Sydney

We are seeking an experienced, highly organised and motivated Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee nursing services at our state-of-the-art specialist Day Hospital in Chatswood.

This is an excellent opportunity for a capable nursing professional who enjoys working in a small, friendly and supportive team while taking responsibility for clinical operations, nursing standards and the smooth running of a specialist surgical facility.

Position Details

- Part-time position: 2–3 days per week (negotiable)

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the day-to-day nursing operations of the Day Hospital
- Maintain clinical governance, quality assurance and accreditation standards
- Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, policies and procedures
- Oversee nursing documentation, surgical records and clinical audits
- Participate in clinical and surgical nursing duties when required
- Assist with staff orientation, training and performance management

About You

The ideal candidate will:

- Be a Registered Nurse (RN) with current AHPRA registration
- Have substantial experience in a Day Hospital, operating theatre or surgical environment
- Have previous nursing management experience, preferably as a DON,



Nurse Unit Manager or Clinical Nurse Manager
- Have a strong understanding of clinical governance, accreditation and patient safety requirements
- Have excellent written and spoken English
- Be approachable, easy to work with and committed to supporting nursing staff in a positive, cooperative working environment

This position is best suited to someone who lives within a reasonable commuting distance of Chatswood and is seeking a stable, long-term, part-time role.

Remuneration
